Set up SyncTech email in Outlook

Choose the instructions for new Outlook, classic Outlook, Mac or mobile—then use the same secure IMAP settings throughout.

Replace your-domain.com with your actual domain. Username is always your full email address.

Set up Outlook

  1. Open account settings

    Click the Settings gear (top right) → Accounts → Email accounts → Add account.

  2. Enter your email

    Type your full email address and click Continue.

  3. Choose IMAP

    If it asks how to add the account, choose IMAP (not Microsoft 365 / Exchange).

  4. Enter the servers

    Incoming server mail.your-domain.com, port 993, SSL. Outgoing server mail.your-domain.com, port 465, SSL. Username is your full email address.

  5. Sign in and finish

    Enter your mailbox password, click Continue, then send yourself a test email to confirm.

  1. Add an account manually

    Go to File → Add Account, enter your email, then choose Advanced options → Let me set up my account manually.

  2. Choose IMAP

    Select IMAP as the account type.

  3. Enter the servers

    Both servers are mail.your-domain.com. Incoming IMAP 993 (SSL/TLS), Outgoing SMTP 465 (SSL/TLS).

  4. Turn on SMTP authentication

    Tick “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”, using the same login as incoming.

  5. Test and finish

    Enter your password, test the settings, then click Finish.

Outlook 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021 and Microsoft 365 desktop all use these same steps.
  1. Open accounts

    Go to Outlook → Settings → Accounts and click + to add an account.

  2. Enter your email

    Type your full email address. If prompted for a provider, choose IMAP.

  3. Enter the servers

    Incoming and outgoing server mail.your-domain.com. IMAP 993 (SSL), SMTP 465 (SSL).

  4. Add the account

    Enter your full email as the username and your password, then click Add Account.

  1. Open Add Account

    Tap your profile icon → the gear (Settings)Add Mail Account → Add Email Account.

  2. Enter your email

    Type your full email and tap Add Account. If it is not detected, choose Set up manually and select IMAP.

  3. Incoming (IMAP)

    Server mail.your-domain.com, port 993, security SSL, username your full email.

  4. Outgoing (SMTP)

    Server mail.your-domain.com, port 465, security SSL, username your full email.

  5. Finish

    Tap the tick / Sign in, then send a test email.

If Outlook tries to auto-detect the wrong settings, choose the manual / advanced option and enter the values above exactly.
